consistency

"showing up everyday is not a given.

one day you may be filled to the brim with energy, ready to take on all problems with solutions and the next day you may feel as if you have no energy struggling to even get out of bed. the influx of emotions takes one for a internal roller-coaster ride, which then seems to manifest into our outer world.

it's important to acknowledge personal feelings and to understand that though our feelings may be negative, our actions do not have to be. often we let consistency be dependent on our internal feeling when it should be based in understanding.

an understanding that actions are ultimately the final product of our thoughts and feelings. therefore one should never act prematurely based on their feelings and attempt to understand why one may feel the way they do.

having goals helps exercise this muscle of consistency. understanding that you have goals and are trying to accomplish them makes consistency more tangible and seen more attainable.

the truth is we all have feelings and we don't always feel good. some people only want to lie around all day and some want to be outside all day. some like to write, some like to sing, whatever the hobby may be always remember it is up to you to develop those skills through consistent effort.

sometimes you may need a day where all you do is lie around, just to allow yourself to exercise your will, but nothing ever gets done by lying around.

Be gentle with yourself. Don't allow yourself to be tricked by your feelings, the way to conquer them is in not avoiding them but in facing them."
