poem 83

"the sky shook and the ground rumbled

the sky broke and the ground crumbled

and the waters of the Earth that were held in a basin

were let loose and took over the land, then

the winds blew over and pushed the waters aside

and saved all the sinners who were about to die

because God promised that he would never take life with the waters

and all those sinners who had no faith became his new sons and daughters

on that day he showed again why he is so great

without deserving it he saved those with no faith

they kissed the ground and sang all day

on their knees they said their prayers and gave their thanks."
